Conclusion:
1. Impressive!
Russian government’s goal is to weaken the USA
…to diminish America’s global role
…to neutralize a perceived USA threat to Russian interests.
2. Right now Russian security services and their proxies have
geared up to repeat their interference in the 2020 election.
— Trump’s attempt to cause chaos by telling his supporters to vote twice
— Trump’s attempt to sabotage the post office to prevent mail-in voting
— Trump’s attempt to discredit mail in voting, a long-standing and reliable method.
3. Peter Strzok’s experiences with the Trump Administration
makes it clear whose side Trump is on!
Last Thoughts:
1. Trump ruined Strzok’s career as an FBI counterintelligence operative
….for purely domestic political purposes.
It is hard to read….and I’m sure even harder for
Strzok to accept the injustice he has incurred.
2. Strzok’s book is a warning to us all…
If the president or anyone else impedes or subverts the national
security of the United States in order to further domestic,
political or personal interests
…that is more than worthy of your attention.

Every time we get a new Trump book at work (& we only get a handpicked selection of the titles available), my colleagues groan and say ‘aren’t we over this yet? Who’s even reading these books anyway?!’

Most Australians are horrified by Trump in fits and starts, but I suspect we go away feeling a little smug about our voting system. We may vote in some duds over the years, but we actually vote in the party, not the person, so if no-one is happy, then the party can change leaders. And in recent years, they have been very happy to do so. Not ideal, but we all know, including the leaders, that it is the party that we vote for not the leader.
Never feel smug about your voting system….just look what is going on in USA!
I am adding a book to my #AusReadingMonth 2020 “Silent Invasion (2018) by Clive Hamilton. I want to get a feel/compare with the threat of Chinese influence in Australia. USA has Russia already installing maleware in computer voting systems that can be controlled at a distance. This software is designed to cause damage to computer, server, client or network. What is the fear? That the Russian maleware will DELETE every 10th vote for Biden…for instance. This is scary stuff. I only hope the USA cyber intelligence group is prepared to combat this threat. So glad I am in your thoughts in the book store!!! I’m reading RAGE Bob Woodward’s blockbuster at the moment. Woodward is a 2 x Pulitzer Prize winner….the book is excellent.
