#Julia, eat your heart out…I’m cooking again!

- Cooking was NOT my mother’s thing so
- …she taught my sister and I how to whip up a meal.
- Honestly, my sister was “the kitchen queen” but
- I did my best to reach her standard of excellence!
- This is a great photo I wanted to share…
- …love receiving cookbooks from my friend Kathy.
- Kathy continues to inspire me when I get in the “no cooking mood”.
- Finally the “dust has literally settled” in my house.
- Time to search for some cookbooks to use in the coming weeks.

- Sunday brunch and I could not cook without
- “mother’s little helper”, Jerry.
- I have to be careful because yesterday he jumped on the induction unit
- ..while I was cooking!
- Scared the bejesus out of me.

Fran would be beside herself with this beautiful transformation! I don’t think she ever had a “brand new” kitchen in her life! But she did teach us some wonderful lessons and shared her recipes that I still use today… except maybe that time I shattered the pyrex baking dish 😂. As Julia and Jacques would say… “Bon Appetite” and “Happy Cooking”!!❤️
Oh, what a nightmare that was…that shattered Pyrex dish! Scared both of us!
Hanging up the apron for a few days…I have to get some rest and read a book for a change. Hope to visit the ‘village’ butcher this weekend and get some good meat (veal?) to cook.
Kath, just made a Le Creuset Dutch oven pan full of vegetable soup with white wine and fresh thyme as seasoning. Soup will keep me warm on these stil “chilly” Spring days. We’re going to need warm coats on King’s Day, Thursday. I hope Queen Maxima and the princesses dress warmly.
Love making soup! And it’s still chilly here too… 3 inches of rain yesterday!
Happy King’s Day… a celebration despite the weather!!
Glad to see you’re finally in your lovely new kitchen! How’s the egg cooker going?
Works like a charm! Egg in …water in…plug in…then walk away!
I’m very tempted to get one too. One that also poached eggs would be perfect 👍🏼
