I’m definitely going to have to investigate this challenge as I love Crime fiction. Good Luck with completing it in 2026
Crime fiction…is sometimes neglected on reading lists as not literature….but CF authors are some of the most talented imaginative, white-knuckle suspense writers! Looking forward to my list and any CF you have read!
I just love the sheer variety of crime fiction from GA crime writers through to those writers who create such atmospheric stories. It is irritating how it gets dismissed by so many people.
This is a great list of crime fiction for 2026. I have read a few of them and I am eager to see what you think of all of them.
I might try for Armature Sleuth level.
There are some great CF’s out there…you just have to look further than the ‘best sellers’ lists now published for 2025! As you can see I’ve mixed up books from around the world and 18/20 book were written 1959-1997. Hope you find smth you like!

I read a lot of crime fiction, thanks for letting us know about this challenge.
I stumbled on to this challenge last year by accident! I tried to read a mix of authors from USA/UK — Nordic noir, Japan noir, and some classics from Germany, Italy and Belgium! I want to look at some Canadian authors as well for the Great Canadian Reading Challenge @ The Happy Reader (Jodie). Roxanne Bourchard looks interesting La Mariée de coral (The Coral Bride). Thanks for leaving your comment!
Andrée Michaud is another crime fiction writer from Quebec, she won the Quais du Polar prize once. She’s good.
Thanks for the feedback…I will look at her books on Amazon!
