#Kindle TBR …out of control!

- According to my KINDLE I have 1352 unread books.
- If I want to bring this number down to zero
- …I would have to read 10 books a month for the next 11 years!
- It is time to join Bev’s challenge Mount TBR 2022
- @MyReadersBlock
- You can participate on her blog or via her Goodreads group!
- I think the ONLY challenge I will be joining in 2022 is
- Goodreads Mount TBR 2022
- Challenge runs from January 1 to December 31, 2022
- The link provides ALL the information you need to…
- Choose a level,
- Open a topic under one of the challenge level folders
- Name your climb.
- Reviews are optional!
- …you can link to the GR bookpage
- …use a number score: i.e. 4/5 stars
- (leave a short comment….or not.)
- …you can link to your blog review
- This gives me the freedom to only review
- …EXCELLENT books I’ve read on my blog.
Last thoughts:
- I will use the month of December to
- plan my 2022 reading
- remove books I WILL NEVER read from my Kindle.
- I will update my progress on twitter with
- #MountTBR2022
- It is time to prepare for 2022
- …before the Xmas Holidays
- …get in the way.
UPDATE: 06.12.2021
- It took me 2 days to look through 1352 books on my Kindle and
- select 300 I need to read.
- I had to be savage and permanently deleted some books
- …I will NEVER read.
- January 2022: total 51 books selected
- …all purchased in 2015!!
- Let’s see how many I can read!

I have way too many books (I don’t know the count, I will check later) on my Kindle and I don’t even like to read e-books. I think the Mount TBR challenge is a great idea… I have done it in the past at Bev’s blog, but it has been a few years. Doing it on Goodreads might work better for me. I could even have sub-challenge to read a certain number of e-books.
Tracy, I think if I do this challenge via Goodreads group…then I’ll stick to it.
I’m not one who visits many blogs…so I like to concentrate my reading on GR.
I’m surprised how many CF I have on my Kindle!!
I’m curious what you are planning to do in the form of reading challenges in 2022!
Hope you join this challenge!
I will definitely join this challenge, Nancy. I am glad you pointed me to the Goodreads version.
The other challenges I am planning are the European Reading Challenge and the Japanese Literature Challenge. The Japanese Lit. Challenge only runs January – March, which I like.
1352!!! So why am I stressing out over my 59 Kindle TBRs? lol Mount TBR challenge sounds like it will be helpful. Good luck!!
I think if I concentrate ALL my reading on Goodreads instead of via other blogger”s websites that I can get a lot of reading done. It takes time to visit other blogs as you know.
I made a list of several genres to read each month so my reading does not get boring.
I’m curious what you are planning to do in the form of reading challenges in 2022!
Good idea switching up your genres! I’m still plotting and planning for 2022.
And I thought I was bad 🤣🤣
I hang my head in shame….and it I’ve been working on my Kindle “to read list” for two days!
Absolutely being savage and culling some books that I will NEVER read!
Wow. Over 1,000! I think I would definitely start by culling those titles that I will never read.
…work in progress!
That Kindle amount is impressive. And I thought I had a lot with 47!
Selected 300 books from the Kindle to start my Mount TBR 2022 challenge.
Starting with 51 books not read ….purchased in 2015!!
No more buying books in 2022…embargo!
Good luck, Nancy!
It’s so easy to add books to the kindle, especially when you come across irresistible deals late at night when resistance levels are low. My problem is thst I forget I’ve bought them
I was so surprised how many bookS bought in 2015 AND still 51 not read! I am very susceptible to shortlists of books up for a prize. Cannot resist the challenge of reading them all! I started this morning reading 1/51. I am whizzing through my usual websites/news items/Twitter in 15 min instead of a leisurely hour with my coffee. I hope to gain more reading time and less social media. Thanks for your comments and I shall stop by your blog see what you are reading and your plans for 2022!
Tracy, I’ll have a look at both of your sign-up posts for European Reading Challenge and the Japanese Literature Challenge. Success!
I don’t know how many I have and I’m going to keep it like that! I am doing a physical TBR challenge my husband set me, to read all 85 books on my TBR (not including the ones I’m planning to read with my best friend) from Oct 05 2021 to Oct 05 2022 and only then am I allowed to read Dave Grohl’s Storytelling, which I really want to read but tipped my husband over the edge about my TBR, somehow! Happy Kindling!
Let’s get this TBR REDUCED…NO NEW BOOKS IN 2022….AT at least in the FIRST 6 MONTHS!!
The Mt TBR challenge is one I’ve just signed up for. Thanks for mentioning it, Nancy.
So glad to see you joining me on this climb! I must admit the days spent sweeping through my TBR books were fun! I found so many reads long forgotten but still waiting for me. You have always inspired me to keep reading. I try to keep up with you…at least 10 books a month.
This CHALLENGE seems to be so easy to keep track of instead of hopping around so many book blogs. Thanks for your comment!
Thank you, Nancy. Long may we both read. :-)
Both eyes got new lenses 2019 (cataract surgery)…so I’m firing on all cylinders!
So glad that you’re joining me on the Mount TBR climb! Welcome to the challenge.
Thanks….I am determined to read the books I have…and NOT to buy any new books until I have climbed Mt Everest! (100 books)
I am also doing this challenge! I have signed up to read 48 (Mt. Ararat) books. Good luck :)
Good luck to you too!
I’m reading my first book TBR…purchased in 2015 ( Manual for Cleaning Ladies (43 short stories) by Lucia Berlin)
…as we speak. What is your first book?
