#Kitchen 22 April 2023 FINI!

Paint Guy!
- Painters are very hard to come by during Spring and Summer.
- Luckily “Patrick” had an opening for a 1,5 to put the finishing touches on the kitchen.
- Then it took me two days just to let this whole remodelling experience sink in.
- 29 March I mentioned in passing to my ‘toolman” I’d like to remodel this room.
- 9 work days + 1,5 hr painter later and the job was done!! (20 April)
- There were moments of frustrations: cooking out doors and washing plates in a bucket.
- Easter weekend (we have 3 days) – Good Friday, Holy Saturday, 1e Easter Sunday and 2e Easter Monday.
- That was an extended wait….and no progress was made on the kitchen.
- I just ate about 50 mini choc Easter eggs as comfort food.

Here are the photos of my new kitchen!

This is a ladder for the cats so they can sit on their special place and watch me cook!
- Many thanks to my “toolman” Bert for all the hard work he has done.
- Dutch: Mijn dank is verpletterend!
- We celebrated with coffee and cake!

That looks fantastic. I love the ladder for the cats. And the lighting is so good. You will have a lot of pleasure cooking in that kitchen.
Tracy, I’m exhausted after all the cleaning, coming-and-going of tool men and painters….hoping that the next few weeks will be quieter and I can get back to reading! I haven’t read anything in 4 weeks!!
Oh is the oven in the wall now??? We had that set up when I was a kid and I’m quite fond of it. Your kitchen looks so much more spacious now with the bulky stove gone and, I think, the overhead cabinets are higher over the counter? Glad you kept that wood (?) counter top as I love that so much. A ladder for the cats!!!! Marilyn is now giving me a bit of side-eye wondering where HER ladder is.
Jinjer, I hope you enjoy the pie… it’s a great holiday treat!
Jinjer, according to my “toolman” I had too many overhead cabinets and that one “tall apothecary cabinet” hold as much a 3 of my old cabinets. That bulky appliance was a huge dishwasher…way to big for one person. Glad I could pass it on to someone with a family who can enjoy it. Oven place in the wall is such a pleasure…I can easily keep an eye on things in oven and temperature. Marilyn, with the side-eye…so funny! Her “kitty tower” I see in on its way so she’ll have fun with that!
Cheers to Bert… a very talented man! you are so lucky to have a trusted professional. I love the finished kitchen and agree with Jinjer and Tracy… you must be thrilled! I can’t wait to see what culinary treats are in your future! Julia eat your heart out! Remind me again where did you put the dishwasher? Happy Cooking!
Cooking up a storm…will add some photos in a future post on this blog…with a special surprise for you! Dishwasher is behind the cabinet door next to the “wide drawers”. Everything is concealed to give the kitchen a sleek look!
Cheers to painter too!!
I’ll send the message!
